Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Professor  Khundkar completed his MBBS in 1978 from Dhaka Medical College and obtained his Fellowship in Surgery in 1984.He is a WHO FELLOW in Plastic Surgery and did his specialty training in VPSU, Melbourne, Australia. He has been a teacher in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery since 1989.

He has served in various capacities as a teacher in different medical colleges and postgraduate institutes of the country for the last 34 years. Prior to joining this institute as Honorary Professor of Plastic Surgery he retired from government service as Professor and Head of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Dhaka Medical College.

In addition to undergraduate teaching, learning and assessment programs he is actively involved with postgraduate teaching, learning and assessment programs of BCPS and Universities. He is deeply involved with the development of Skill and Competence in both postgraduate and undergraduate arenas. He is intimately involved with the development and running of courses in the Department of Skill Development of BCPS.He is an invited contributor of a chapter in “Global Reconstructive Surgery”(Edited by Prof James Chang of Stanford University, USA).

He is a well known and reputed Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon of the country. He is the reciepient of many National and International awards for academic and humanitarian services. He has been a key surgeon with the USA based ReSurge International Volunteer Surgical Team to countries in South America,  SE Asia and the Far East over the last 15 years. He has presently 28 publications in different national and international medical journals.
